The Sound Engineer has a very special role during any event. Whether a single speech microphone or orchestral prom, our job is to create high quality sound of value to the environment given. We always work closely with our clients and musicians to understand their direction then we add our skills to reinforce the material with intelligibility, dynamics, and atmosphere.

Bands working in smaller spaces can sometimes be a real challenge. Acoustic sounds from instruments are very often loud enough in the venue but sound reinforcement is still needed for the other sounds especially vocals, acoustic guitars and electric pianos. Our high quality compact systems have the same dynamics as our larger systems but provide a smoother sound for a closer audience. The Engineer will help the band to balance their instruments with the PA and create the best sound possible for them and the venue.

Concert and festival events are normally in bigger spaces including arenas, halls and the great outdoors. Different sound system arrangements are applied to deal with these changes to maximize sound quality and coherency. For example, in a concert hall it may be acceptable to ground stack speakers and still cover the room evenly while outdoors it is sometimes better to fly speakers higher to cover longer and wider spaces. On stage, individual monitor speakers or ear buds are normally necessary controlled by the main audio mixer, or on larger shows a dedicated monitor mixer. These decisions can be easily made pending the scale and budget of the event.
